REAPER is incredible. In terms of audio editing it is by far one the most advanced pieces of audio software available.
PRO TOOLS HD. It’s hard to find to a production where Pro Tools was not in duty at one point of the production chain.
LOGIC PRO. Apple’s DAW comes with an increbile stock of killer native software instruments.
Always pushing the creative envelope. Adobe CC.

Lately I am finding myself more and more learning about so called ‘audio middleware’ which are used in implementing music and sounds into video games and game-like applications for platforms like PlayStation or Wii.
